Perifect
PeriCardioScope ™
It is a secure access device for video-driven pericardial effusion
Dramatically changes the way access to Pericard is achieved.
Its use will propel the market to pericardial access base procedures such as VT ablation, epicardial ablation,
Location and removal of lead, ligation of left atrial appendage, pericardiocentesis and drug delivery.
The pericardial approach has not changed much since the introduction of the Touhy needle in 1946.
Procedures are still performed under fluoroscopic guidance and require significant skills and experience to perform.
Complications include tamponade, liver perforation, perforation of the heart and more, with the complication rate estimated between 7% -30% of procedures.
Due to the complexity involved and the risk inherent in the current approach, only a small group of physicians attempt to perform it, as a result a small number of patients receive adequate care.
Design
The environment of the operating rooms is a complex environment and the real estate in it is crowded.
Our goal was to make the product as minimalist as possible and sat at a desk.
The challenge was great because it has very complex mechanical systems with high suppliers with thermal requirements.
The design challenge was to create a configuration that could support the mechanical and electronic components without harming each other.
The design gives clear technical messages and focuses on a goal.
